Diamonds 2.49cts/2pcs, diamond rim 2.05cts, lock area diamonds 0.72cts, 18k gold.

The use of rose-cut diamonds and old-centuries’ forms endows these earrings with a genteel vintage look. The center pear-shaped diamond in each ear pendant, is framed with a rim of round ones, and completed with an outer layer of single-cut diamonds. The look area is set with more diamonds. The artistic layout results in a spectacular look of an antique eggy-shape.

***In 1499 the first sea trade route between Europe and India was completed, making diamonds more available, though still primarily the adornment of monarchs. It was around this time that the first diamond engagement rings appeared on royal fingers: an expression of unbreakable allegiance if not yet symbolic of romantic fidelity.***
